We believe that good Art, good Coffee, good Food and good Music contribute to a balanced and great lifestyle. We also believe that we can help accomplish this for everyone in our town!
The original concept for our business was our love of art, food, music & coffee. In 2013 the owner, Gail Knight, went to a paint & sip event with her daughter, Felicia, in Denver, CO, who is an avid artist. She loved the concept of painting with a party. She also loves coffee, food, music, and the idea of painting with friends and cocktails. Gail decided that this was the kind of experience that she wanted to be a part of on a regular basis and also one she felt could be expanded on in Reno, her home city for the last 7 years. Gail started to think of how she would accomplish this with her busy lifestyle & decided that her daughter, Melanie, would be able to accomplish all feats where a new business is concerned, having started a business together before. Knowing many of the musicians in town through her son Josiah, the concept of including live music within the venue would complete the idea of an excellent space with a fun, creative, & entertaining environment in Reno.
In planning the business model, the Knight family knew that it was important to find an excellent coffee roaster in order to offer the level of excellence that Reno deserves. Gail made a trip to a local coffee roaster and experienced a taste of one of the best coffee’s in the area!
Temple Coffee is not only a multi-award wining coffee roaster, but their "farm to cup" philosophy is exactly the kind of wholesaler that the Knight's were seeking to become a part of.
It is our goal that anyone visiting our space will have a fun, creative, and relaxing time. Whether you just stop in for our award winning espresso, or if you want to come and paint, try our signature cocktails or tasty food options, our goal is that you enjoy yourself! That’s what we do in Reno!

Emily Devine is an artist and designer from Austin, Texas. She dabbles in woodworking, clock-making, sculpture, sewing, photography, ceramics, and all things artistic. Although she received a degree in graphic design from Texas State University, she loves to paint and she cites her mother, Linda D’Elia, as her greatest artistic influence. “Growing up, my mom encouraged me to try as many new things as possible, but the most important thing was to be different and unique.”
As an art instructor, I love to encourage students to step out and TRY.
Art is therapy. The learner has to be vulnerable and open to possibilities that lay within.
I see creativity as a spiritual experience. My training in theology (a seminary graduate) helped me to love and see the beauty in everyone, and the work of the hands as a blessing waiting to blossom. My favorite subjects are trompe l’oeil (optical illusion), seascapes, and animals. I also like to combine food and art (my kitchen is also an art studio!) and sometimes get lost in that “zone” – where I’m enjoying the process and time flies. If you’ve ever wanted to paint, but don’t know how to go about getting started, let Crafted Palette be your “kitchen with a studio” where you can nurture skills in a delicious environment. But, most of all, come enjoy yourself and have some fun!
“Find Your Comfort Zone and Leave it”
My above mission statement might tell you a little bit about me. I love quotes and I feel this one is appropriate for my bio, I am a firm believer that it is important to learn and try new things throughout your life for personal growth. After all life is a Journey so Live it and Love it!
As one of the artist at Crafted Palette my goal is to make art fun and non intimidating to people that have never explored their inner artist and just make it an entertaining night out with friends and family to go home with something you are proud of.
I got my positive attitude from my parents, who said I could do ANYTHING.” David studied theater and arts in college and instructs/coaches locally at Take2 Performer’s studio. His acting skills were put to use in his one-man show, where James Sullivan of the San Francisco Chronicle noted: “Like his idol, Hayes ‘did it all’ in his 90-minute tribute.” He currently teaches drama and produces performances with the students at a local high school.
Jennifer is a Vivacious Vegan with lots of positive vibes, she loves art and teaches the painting classes strictly for fun alone! Her art Style is whimsical and she loves everyone to create their own version of her art!
The only thing you need to bring to the classes is yourself! Of course you can always bring a friend along too!
Crafted Palette occupies the space where once the Beaujolais Bistro was to be found on West Street. The space has been opened up, and is far more airy and open than it was in its prior iteration. The furniture consists of refurbished pallet-like high tables and bar stools, which also double as art class tables, and one lower group table. The walls are decorated with a wide variety of original art, reflecting that this is not just another bistro, but also functions as an artist workspace and classroom.
Today we stopped by for lunch and we both ordered the pretzel slider pastrami…
…The Crafted Palette is definitely worth a return trip, because there were many other interesting items on the menu (though not the poulet Brie sandwich -Brie! Yuck!). I would travel out of my way to revisit this little gem.Robert V
Great place, great vibe, great folks. I don’t drink dairy and can’t drink soy so I go with almond milk or coconut milk. When Crafted Palette just opened I decided to check it out. They didn’t have almond milk so I passed. To my surprise the owner to my request to heart and now carries almond milk! I say that is customer service above and beyond! Thank you Gail!!Tiffany B
Have absolutely no artistic talent whatsoever…….it is impossible to not have success here!
Walking in with my mom and one day shy of being 21 year old niece we were instantly swept into an evening of fun, Laughter, artistic expression and left with a painting that is now banging on the wall!
Beverage selection for everyone from wine…..coffees…teas…..sodas. Lots of tempting desserts and a cheese tray of the day.
I used my Yelp coupon for the Mocha and it did not disappoint. Big mug that kept warm with the final touches of painting I did.
David was an excellent “teacher”. Who knew the right amount of humor as well as praise for everyone’s work. Help was there but nobody was stressing with the early flow of instruction and success.
Definitely a place to return to! Book early to save your spot. Web site is very easy to see what painting is on each night.
The hubby and I visited RENO for or anniversary so I booked us a paint and sip. This place was so cute. It was our first time ever doing anything like this. The staff was very friendly and helpful the people who was in the class was also very nice. They made us first timers feel very welcomed and although our paintings looked crappy they made sure to lift our spirits and tell us how beautiful they were. It was a good experience. I’m glade we chose this place.Andrea. R
